A Bright Future With Biofuels
Rudolf Dieisel changed the world with his invention of the disel engine, he orignally planned to have the enigine run on peanut oil. [3.1]
Bioenergy is energy that has been generated with the use of biomass. Biomass is a term used to refer to the biological material of alive or once living organisms; these include wood, corn, wheat, manurer, and agae. Man has been using bioenery since he discovered how to make fire, which is still the most widely used form of bioenergy.

Biofuels
Biofuels are the fuels that we derive from biomass. Many different directions have been taken with biofuels and they have been broken into four catagories. There are four main categories, or generations, of biofuels.
The History of Bioenergy
1898
Henry Ford invents the T model car, which he planned to run on fuels from hemp. [3.1]
1903
The EPA passes the Clean Air Act which allows EPA to control the dissemination of pollutants from cars. This causes a push for biofuels. [3.6]
1970
The extended use of fossil fuels in World War II caused biofuels to be used as a source of energy. [3.1]
1939
President Roosevelt repealed a tax on all alcohol fuels in 1903 to encourage their use. [3.2]
Agrol a type of fuel that has ethanol added to it begins to be developed. [3.2]
1937
Recife opens up the very first alcohol fuel plant. [3.2]

Ernest Berl discovers how to make fuel from plant wastes [3.2]
Fossil Fuels become more accessible and cheaper making people lose interest in biofuels [3.5]
1950's
The Oil Embargo Act increases the price of oil reinvigorating the search for better biofuels. [3.2]
